Need a hand? We're here to help you keep learning Japanese.
Email our team and we'll get back to you, usually within 1–2 business days.
In the app? Tap the flag icon — it's on nearly every screen — to report a problem or send feedback right from where you are. Including your device model and what you were doing helps us resolve things faster.
Download Kitsugo from the App Store or Google Play and open it — you can start learning right away. The first section of every course is free, and you can begin as a guest without creating an account. When you're ready, sign in with email, Google, or Apple to save your progress across devices.
Yes. Kitsugo is free to download, and the first section of every course is free to complete, along with core kana practice, daily reviews, and progress tracking. Kitsugo Premium unlocks the full catalog of courses and complete JLPT practice exams.
Kitsugo Premium is available as a monthly plan ($9.99 USD/month) or an annual plan ($79.99 USD/year). Prices may vary by region and are shown in your local currency at checkout. You can subscribe from within the app whenever you're ready to unlock everything.
Subscriptions are billed through your App Store or Google Play account, so they're managed there:
iPhone/iPad: Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Kitsugo.
Android: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Kitsugo.
Canceling stops future renewals; you keep Premium access until the end of the period you've already paid for.
Purchases are processed by Apple or Google, and refunds are handled under their policies, so we generally can't issue refunds directly. For the App Store, request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. For Google Play, use the order history in your Play account. If you believe you were charged in error, email us and we'll do our best to help.
First, make sure you're signed in to the same account you purchased on. Then try Settings → Restore Purchases. Entitlements can take a moment to sync after purchase — closing and reopening the app usually does it. If Premium still doesn't appear, email us with the store account email you used and we'll sort it out.
Check that your device isn't muted and the volume is up (on iPhone, the silent switch still lets Kitsugo play audio, but do check the ringer). A network connection is needed the first time a clip plays. If audio still won't play, try closing and reopening the app, and make sure you're on the latest version. Still stuck? Let us know your device model.
You can use Kitsugo as a guest or sign in with email, Google, or Apple. If you started as a guest, you can link a permanent login later from Settings so your progress is saved. If you're having trouble signing in, make sure you're using the same method you signed up with (for example, Apple vs. email), and reach out if you're still locked out.
Yes — as long as you're signed in with the same account (email, Google, or Apple), your progress, streak, and reviews sync across your devices. Guest progress lives on a single device until you link a permanent login.
You can permanently delete your account and associated data from within the app under Settings → Delete Account. This can't be undone. For details on how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.
We'd love to hear it. Tap the flag icon on nearly any screen in the app to report it in context, or email support@kitsugo.app. Feedback from learners directly shapes what we build next.
